The electrification of heat is progressing rapidly. The number of heat pumps in Switzerland, which currently total around 430,000, is expected to at least double by 2035, resulting in an increase in electricity consumption to over 6 TWh. The energy efficiency of heat pumps is therefore an important factor for the success of the energy strategy. However, around a third of installed heat pumps do not work efficiently.
